I lost my mom in Feb. to BC.  It really sucks!  She really was my best friend, we spent almost everyday together.  We'd go to lunch and shop.  I miss her so much.  This month has been really hard and I didn't expect it to be so it's caught me off guard.  The Pink ribbons and the Race for the Cure all the commercials about Breast Cancer have really been difficult.  I guess to help cope with the loss, I've been keeping busy with the kids, working out and hanging out with my new best friend.  I had to make new friends to help occupy my time. I go to therapy a few times a month and that seems to help.

Hi there. I lost my Mom when I was 21 years old to breast cancer. Loosing her was one of the hardest things in my life. I miss her everyday. I know that she wants me to be strong. Before she died, the last conversation she had was with me. She said to me you know that I am going to die soon. That was very hard for me not to break down right then. I knew she needed to talk about it. We stayed on the phone for at least an hour talking about things.

It's never easy. No matter how old you are to loose your mother. But I know that my Mom believed in me. She loved me and supported me in almost everything that I did. She also said I was a wonderful Mommy to my daughter. This is how I get through and continue life. I continue to try to be the best person that I can be. (Wife and Mommy) That is what she wanted and that is all I can do. :)

I was blessed to have a wonderful mother and mother-in-law, who are no longer with me. I lost them within a year of each other. The way I coped was to fill my time with projects that required a lot of my attention. While I did allow myself time to grieve, I did not linger in the grief when it would come unexpectedly. I tried to continually focus on remembering the precious qualities of these two great women and how they enriched my life. That lessen the pain.
